Yes, that worked. Telnet actually tells you - Escape character is '^]'. but I
didn't know that meant Ctrl+]. I am not familiar with telnet at all.

It wouldn't work with me too. I simply closed the terminal. I found out
later that the remote server eventually timed out at about 5 mins.
