Minor nitpicking, NetworkManager was a project initiated and run by Red Hat
(mainly) with help from Novell and and a bunch of others. See the credits list
below:

Christopher Aillon caillon at redhat.com
Jonathan Blandford jrb at redhat.com
John Palmieri johnp at redhat.com
Ray Strode rstrode at redhat.com
Colin Walters walters at redhat.com
Dan Williams dcbw at redhat.com
David Zeuthen davidz at redhat.com

And others, including:

Bill Moss bmoss at clemson.edu
Tom Parker
j at bootlab.org
Peter Jones pjones at redhat.com
Robert Love rml at novell.com
Tim Niemueller tim at niemueller.de

I do not see any one from the Ubuntu camp contributing per se though -
maybe there are bz postings and patches.

Fedora 9 and all the newest distributions will support the VPN from
NewtorkManager. If you have the USB broadband solution from M1,
SingTel or StarHub, plug it in and viola, NN will pick if up and make
an option available in the applet to connect via that option.

Thanks.
