No offence taken, but that comparison is flawed. It's more like
comparing a tidy, ordered filing cabinet with a big box of jumbled
documents.

Bottom posting does not mean simply leaving the original mail, crufty
footers and all, and adding your response below.
It means editing the original mail to include only the context
relevant to your reply, for the convenience of the recipients.
